Just wanted to pick up drawing with coloured pencils again. Her name is Leah--I love that name ^^! btw, I'm sorry it's such a...brainless picture, but this was more of a warm-up, since I haven't used this medium in ages. Anyways...I apologize for the tasteless--ironic?--title again. The colour of the actual piece of art is a bit different from the scanned version here--they're more...."delicate", and has a champaign-ish hue to the lighter parts of her dress as well as her headwear<--which was supposed to be a crown, but it looks more like a girly pope hat or something lol.
Anyways...I'm currently trying to build up a portfolio of traditional anime--fanart & OC--art to sell with my CGs <amongst other things> at AN09--hopefully I'll get a table again. With that said...this is the first one I've done, and hopefully my future pieces will be more elaborate ^^
I'd buy it if I was going to AN09! (sadly, I am not T_T) I like the glowy eyes, and think it's really cool that you can get this kind of effect with colored pencils.

Thank you ^^ For the picture, I just colour really softly, starting with the lightest colour first, and then build up the lightness with slightly darker colours. For the lineart, I outlined with a really sharp coloured pencil after I've finished the shading, so that there won't be any smudges.
Your Traditional art is just as beautiful and skillful as your CG's, Why am I not surprised?
Her eyes really make the whole picture glow, & bring out a mystical dreamy feeling to me. The detail on the leaves & flowers especially, make me think they are almost real. Also that purple pattern lightly sticking out of the sides, made me at first thinking she had wings.
I would buy a ton of your stuff if I could go to AN09. (this piece included) Why do I have to live on the other side of Canada...? OTL

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Merry Christmas to you out there but don't forget: we are only guests here and so...listen to my favourite words... and look at all these wonderful pieces of art

Hope that helps ^^
